It's an interesting battle. I know a LOT of otherwise tech-dweeby people that refuse to use Google-anything because of their data-hoarding. Google being the antithesis of the EFF/PGP movement.

Maybe Google's CEO is angling for an appointment as the Search and Seizure Czar?

Schmidt's philosophy is clear with Bartiromo in the clip below: "If you have something that you don't want anyone to know, maybe you shouldn't be doing it in the first place."

yeah this flip flopping on his part is annoying. what cauight my ear was that they said google fights the subpoenas but "occasionally feel compelled to cooperate"

Really? so they'll release info as they see fit? what criteria do they use? Seems douchey to me.
