Full Version: Where to get poster prints

I have some high res pics. Some of old maps, some of hot celebs, some of just random movie posters, and just some really random high rez crap.I'd like to have these printed, but unlike everyone else I don't know "that art person" who has access to a HQ poster printer.

I'd like to have it done as cheap as possible. I'm not looking for art show, just something that looks like a poster you'd get in a store.

Otherwise I was just going to option for a ton of ink and rasterbator. Unless you think that's a better, more unique option.

Ironically, I'm in need of the same info as you all of a sudden. I support this thread out of mutual need.

I went to a local photography store, I got two 24x36 foam backed prints (1/2" foam) and one 24x36 canvas print. I was thinking it was about $250 for all 3.

These are the foam backed ones. Both ended up in frames.

No it isn't ironic. It's nowhere near any type of metal. It's COINCIDENTAL.

what kind of sick fuck prints out pictures of old people and puts them in his house of DVDs?

They look very nice, but that is awfully expensive for my perverted means. But those do look nice, and such a nice picture!

Actually, the pics are at the house of the people in the picture. Given to them as a present on that day. Except for the canvas one which still needs framed. Ummm only been 3 years or so, I'll get to it sometime.

I think the foam ones were $50 or less each, just poster paper and put on foam with adhesive. It was the canvas that ran it up. The printer is only about $1500 for that and can print any length of image up to 45" wide. I was quite tempted to get a printer like that, but... what would I print?

There is no way though that I could put those up here... I have no wall space to speak of that isn't used for other things.

Canvas is like 30-60 cents per square inch.

Even if you get that huge ass printer, the inks will probably cost you quite a bit.

well, at work i've got a 42" photo printer and 100' of high gloss.

but when you don't have that, 250 bucks for some foam-core posters is actually a pretty good deal.

i've been trying to find a good deal on this for a littlt over a month now. i haven't actually used this place yet, so i can't vouch for the quality of the work, but i DID bookmark this page...

Just call around to all your local printers (not the Staples or Kinkos variety). There's one here across from my office that'll do an 18"x24" for about $40 bucks.

Printers are hurting right now so any cash is good for them.

Otherwise, I'd give FCA's link a shot. How bad can it be?
