I just got done making some lasagna from scratch (ya'll) and I can smell it cookin' as we speak.
Personally, and not to make light of anyone else's culinary skills, but lasagna is pretty much a no brainer, cook some noodles, throw some spaghetti (meat) sauce and layers of cheese together, and there you go.

I try to add a little love to it, you know. I add a layer of sliced pepperoni, a layer of sliced mushrooms, and use fresh mozzarella between each layer of noodles.

I once really got a hair up my ass and actually made my own noodles, and let me tell you, fresh noodles are a TON better than the dried noodles you get in the store.

Todays recipe called for garlic chees curds, a layer of sliced pepperoni, half a pound of sweet pork sausage, half a pound of ground lean burger, 2 cloves of garlic, a small onion (diced), a pound of fresh mozzarella, a sliced up hot link sausage, and since I didn't think I had enough cheese, I threw a couple handfulls of shredded pizza cheese (whatever)... Made 4 layers from top to bottom, in the biggest pan I had... should be tasty, I will post a picture later

Uh... everybody was hungry by the time it got done and started digging into it before I had a chance to take any shots. By the time I got to it the dish was all dug up.
I could get some shots of the leftovers in their tupperware type bowls.

uh, isn't pasta a general term for all things noodly? The box said "Lasagna Noodles", and with the noodles I made a pasta dish... I think. Please advise on proper use of noodle vs. pasta.

Oh, and I fucked up, kinda. The bottom layer of pasta noodles <wink> got a bit tough. Normally I cook the dish at about 325 to 350 for a few hours, this time I started at 400 for an hour then turned it down to 325 for about 40 minutes. So the bottom layer was toothy, but generally delicious nonetheless.

That is bizarre!
For us, noodles are always long and stringy and Asian in origin. Pasta comes in all forms and is Italian, so we would never call lasagne sheets noodles.

The only odd one would be stuff like Spätzle, but there isn't a very good English translation for that anyway.

Shoot, you forced me to do some research...

All hail Wikipedia: Noodles
but
the following entry makes no mention of Noodles, only Pasta: Lasagna

I guess the world will never know.

I did the same, but the Wiki on noodles was obviously written by an American so it didn't shed much light for me!

Americans (at least the ones in the North, but South of Canada, except for Alaska, and a bit above the Mason Dixon line, west of the Dakota's, excluding the portion of Idaho North of I-90, all of New Mexico (except where they grow the peyote), Eugene, Oregon, Northern California (except for Humboldt County) and everyone at The Evergreen State College) typically know what they are talking about, so I would have to say the Wiki (All Hail, Holy Wiki) on Noodles probably trumps the one on Lasagna.

Irregardless, lets put this pettiness aside and agree that Lasagna is a tasty tasty treat.

Hey, I have been wondering, do they have Coca-Cola in the YouKay? Or the rest of France? I was just wondering. The Mexicans make it best!!!!
