I don't really understand women's fascination with purses, however I do support my girlfriend's desire to get a new black one for Christmas since I think the ones she has are not very flattering. I like this one. It says it's $100 off which seems nice but I have no idea how relative that is.

It's only a $50 bag, but it's well made and I love it. I'd really like a Coach bag, but I won't buy one for myself because I'd rather spend the $400 on something useful for my children. If she's a girly girl, you would score big points buying her a Coach handbag. They do have some that are less than $200 and you may be able to catch a sale at your local mall.

Get her a black coach bag. You might have better luck at an outlet mall, sometimes it's a little cheaper that way.

Trust me, I could in depth on this topic but instead I'll give you some sage advice: if you don't want your feelings hurt have her pick it out and then get it. You don't want to buy her something she won't like or use, especially if you blow $$$ on it. if you do, make sure you get a gift receipt. If you go Louis Vuitton or Hermes you'll have a massive heart attack paying for it.

Some people have said Coach, which is fine. You may also want to look into Kate Spade and possibly Prads - but Prada tends to be a little iffy in materials and construction. Stay away from Dooney & Burke.

Coach is the best bet because it's expensive enough to get her moist in the pantal area but won't require a mortgage like a LV. The wife bought one after our honeymoon since I had golfed twice in Hawaii with some our wedding money. She spent $350ish, but got a really nice one. The littler ones should only run you 200ish. Go to an outlet if there is one nearby.

Unless she wants her only present to be a purse (and that's not what I've got in mind) I really want to stay in the $40-$80 range...

I bought an entire set of Channel fakes from a website site for 400 bucks bags and a wallet). Most bags are 100-200 but they are identical to the real ones. So good that the Channel boutique in Nordstroms thought they were real. Just avoid any street vendors like the plague, the bags will fall apart in no time flat. Coach is great but WAY overdone, everyone and their grandma has em... Juicy is in. Just depends on her tastes.
