I have Fallout, Fallout2 and Fallout Tactics. I never got the Brotherhood of Steel game for Xbox or whatever, I'm really not sure if it's Tactics renamed, or if it's a different thing all together. I usually don't have a problem finding things.
I circled Tactics... things may be messy here, but I normally know where something was left... and that should be where it still is. I did have to stand up from here to read the title though.

Ah, that's a 5" B&W TV that's connected to outside cameras.
And the other thing isn't a barbie... it's a Christy Canyon. One that's open. I've got a signed one that's on the wall and a pic of her signing it. Part of the VividGirl line that has xrated actresses with removable clothes.

I guess you could say she could 'fallout' of her costume.. which she did, the costume is actually around her ankle there. With the heat in the room, she really doesn't like to stand on her pedestal, she starts leaning. So I figured I'd let her lay down rather than be bent over.

Ummm, zomg? Everything Bethesda puts out is gold, and I bought both collectors edition of Oblivion. I would love to get this as well, but fuck. Eighty bucks is steep.

Maybe it has to do with that gate from Star Trek... you know, the one that you go through and accidentally break something from Fallout 1 while playing Fallout 2. Perhaps you use it again in 3 to go get Dogmeat from 1 or 2.

your computer is too far away from your tv...
secondary question...which is better to hook a computer up to a tv - hdmi or the vga?
1) move your computer closer to your TV, or get a new computer and set it next to the TV. I think I have a computer within 5 ft of each of my TVs, and each of those supports video out of some sort to the TV. My ATI-AIWs support video out through composite, which on a CRT TV softens the picture and lowers the resolution to 800x600max and also has some underscan, 640x480 would work ok and shouldn't have much over or underscan.
2) Depends on what you want to do: Using HDMI from your video card will allow you to play back protected content from Blu-ray on your TV, if your TV and video card recognize each other for the protection handshake. However using HDMI usually will trim your resolution slighly due to 'overscan'. Meaning the edges of what would show on your desktop would be off the edge of the TV. Using the VGA port should show the full desktop without edge loss, if your video card supports the resolution of your TV. Imagine playing a game and not being able to get through an area simply because a vital item or clue is a few pixels off screen and you never see it due to that. Like Rad-X is sitting on the edge of a bench, and is off your screen, so you die horribly from radiation over and over again simply because you couldn't see the Rad-X which would normally be in plain sight. Of course if you use a converter in between those, you are likely getting the worst of both worlds. Me, I think I'll stick with the VGA since my TV supports it at 1280x1024 and it looks crisp.
With HDMI you get signal loss after about 50ft unless you have a booster in the cable, and I'm not sure how well that would work with protected signals. With VGA you start to get breakup after 100ft or so but could still work for up to 500ft if you have good quality cable, or of course have a booster.
I'm not sure who would actually run HDMI through a wall to get from one place to another, but they do sell HDMI wall jacks and HDMI cables rated for in the wall, so I guess someone must be doing it. I tried to think of an advantage of running an HDMI cable from this PC to the TV on the 1st floor and didn't really come up with a reason to do so. I guess if I wanted to play a game from here to there I could do it, I'd have to figure out what to use for controls. Not sure if bluetooth would get between the 1st floor and the 2nd to control things or not.
Course if this was the world of Fallout, we'd be getting rid of all this hokey digital stuff, and switch to analog.

This is pretty cool. I remember playing Fallout 2 back in... oh, 1998 and loving it to death. I also remember it was a big ol' processor hog and took at least 2 minutes to load a saved game on my auld K6-2 system back in the day.
If they're bringing back Fallout, Bethesda needs to buy up the rights to the Thief franchise and crank out Thief IV.

Jul 15 2008, 07:23 AM
I may play through Tactics again. Fallout is ignoring Tactics, it's supposed to continue after Fallout2, so I'm guessing 'the rise of the machines' never happens in it, or hasn't happened yet.
The main thing I dislike about Tactics, is it is so linear. Each mission only uncovers the next mission or sometimes a couple. There's a cheat to unlock an extra mission (with the town I live in!) Tactics is set in the midwest. After playing through Fallout/Fallout2, I like to try and get the good weapons/skills first. Like in 2, I run down to SF before even going to Klamath, then hit the two bases for armor/weapons.
According to Game Informer, Fallout3 is supposed to let you start anywhere, including downtown DC, but they don't recommend that as it's supposed to be way tough there.

Ah, just because the link you had was for the xbox trailers.
The game situation is why I got a 4ms response TV. I figured if I was going to buy one, I wanted one that would do everything my old tube could do. Although I never played Fallout on my old TV, I could have if I wanted to.

So, in honor of Falout 3, I grabbed my old copy of Fallout and Fallout 2, and this, for some reason cracked me up:
From the Manual of Fallout 2:
QUOTE
Recommended
Pentium 120 or faster
32 MB RAM
150 MB hard disk space
DOES NOT WORK IN DOS
The various installation levels will install larger versions of the
game to your hard drive:
* Small (2 megs: executable, config and support files)
* Medium (87 megs: adds music)
* Large (276 megs: adds creature graphics and animations)
* Humongous (681 megs: installs everything!)
It is recommended that you use the largest possible installation
option for your hard drive. The more room Fallout 2 has on your hard
drive, the faster the game will play.
In addition, when you run Fallout 2, you will need around 20 megs of
free hard drive space for files that are created when playing and for
save games. Save games take up more space the longer you have
been playing. Each save game slot starts around 80K in size,
and will get larger the more areas you have explored.
Humongous, 681 megs. Don't know, just makes me chuckle. Each game save is 80k, same thing, chuckle.
