Anyone read any or all of these books?

Ruckley is a Scot. I'm assuming someone in the family tree was raped by Vikings. Because this saga is all Norse, without the longboats or cow-horned helmets.

Set in an imaginary world where the Gods have deserted the sentient races, it tracks the struggle between two large "groups" (I hesitate to use the term nations). He mixes in the ice/snow/bloody battles theme with another race that seems to be a combination of Picts and Indians (feather not dot).

The books have a much more low fantasy feel to them (magic is a part of the world, but in a much more subdued and mystical way).

Overall, good pulp to read on a vacation or plane ride. A bit dragging in the middle, but satisfying overall. Especially if you like your characters a shade of grey and not black nor white.
