So, in honor of Falout 3, I grabbed my old copy of Fallout and Fallout 2, and this, for some reason cracked me up:

It is recommended that you use the largest possible installation option for your hard drive. The more room Fallout 2 has on your hard drive, the faster the game will play. In addition, when you run Fallout 2, you will need around 20 megs of free hard drive space for files that are created when playing and for save games. Save games take up more space the longer you have been playing. Each save game slot starts around 80K in size, and will get larger the more areas you have explored. Humongous, 681 megs. That is funny, because I remember Fallout 2 taking FREAKIN' FOREVER to load saved games. Like, I'd die, then go to the bathroom, go to the fridge and get a beer, and it'd STILL be loading.

I've played through F1, F2 and Tactics several times lately. Started again with Tactics last week after unsuccessfully trying to get the ~ working in ToEE with the 2nd patch on Vista. I'm on the Mordin mission I think.

My life for this weekend may be over, for I have just booted up Fallout 3.....let the greatness begin. I'll post impressions later tonight :-) The opening CGI sequence has amazing music. I love the old song, nice hula dancer, then bam, you're hit with the post nuclear war thing. OMG, I am disappearing into this game I'm sure.

I have run into a bit of a pickle. I figure I'd burn the game and make sure it works as I just finished making my offline pre-release profile (PleaseTryAgain, a name I like much more than Earl of Vandals... motherfuck). It's 6.52gb, and I am willing to bet I downloaded the same copy that dland did, but it seems my copy is corrupt. I went to upzip everything, and it won't allow me to. I get an error message. SOOOOO, I am downloading another one I found through a torrent site. Its set to take two days. Then again, Silent Hill said it was going to take a day to come down. Four days later, I had it. So... who knows.
I can wait for my legit copy, as I won't be playing this on my real profile anytime soon. If it finishes and isn't corrupt, great.
